Our Practitioners
Mike Allen, CPO, FAAOP — Mike is our Clinical Director and a second generation prosthetist/orthotist from West Texas (his father, AJ Allen, founded Allen Brace Company in 1954). In 1977, he graduated from New York University. He is the recipient of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists Clinical Commitment award (2003) and Distinguished Practitioner award (2006). He is a Past President of the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics. Mike has provided volunteer leadership in the O&P profession for many years, holding various officer and committee appointments on both the state and national levels. He finds great pleasure in the fact that some of the patients he treats today were childhood playmates, originally seen by his father. Mike is married to Kim and has three children and six grandchildren.
Don Driver, CP, LP — Don began working with us in 1992. He is a graduate of New Mexico State University and later attended Northwestern University Medical School's Prosthetic-Orthotic Center, where he earned his Certificate in Prosthetics. He has been a practicing Prosthetist ever since. Don and his wife, Ann, have three children and live in Midland.
Kenneth Laabs, LPOA, RTP — Kenneth is a lifelong resident of Midland and started working with us in 1987, as part of Lee High School's Health Occupational Students of America program. In 1994, he became a Registered Prosthetic Technician and a Licen sed Prosthetic/Orthotic Assistant in 1999. Kenneth and his wife, Monica, are the proud parents of Avril.
Michael McMillan, CO, LO, CPed — Michael has been interested in orthotics since he was a teenager and had a friend who wore a scoliosis brace. He joined us in 1983 and has formed many long lasting relationships with his patients over the 20+ years he has been providing orthotic and pedorthic care. Michael married his high school sweetheart, Julie, with whom he helped raise two daughters and they are experiencing the good fortune of having two grandchildren.
Fernando Ordaz, CPO, LPO — Fernando began his O&P career in 1996 as a technician. He later attended Odessa College before completing his Bachelor's degree at UT Southwestern Medical Center's Orthotics & Prosthetics program in Dallas, Texas. He is certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics (ABC) and is licensed by the Texas Board of Orthotics and Prosthetics as a Prosthetist/Orthotist. Fernando lives in Odessa with his wife and children.
